AI is the future

I put my money where my mouth is. 500,000 yen, no hesitation, into NVIDIA, with plans to invest another 500,000 the following week, and the week after that, until I hit my NISA limit.
Why the conviction?
Seeing, hearing, is believing. I think someone peole are still locked into their old habits, and consuming YT/TikTok videos endlessly to feed their passive lifestyle. Some of this content is okay, but they are full of misinformation and junk content.
If you actually want to learn something, to become something, to do something beyond just having some sex, raising kids, and waiting to die, AI is the way forward.
It sounds like sacrilege, but this is because of our legacy upbringing: "there is divine reward for hard work no matter the outcome".
Wrong.
There is divine reward for achieving something significant. Whether or not it was hard work or not, nobody really cares. Empirically it is better if it wasn't hard work, but usually hard work is what gatekeeps the significant results from being achieved en masse.
Now, it will come down to who has access to and can leverage AI the quickest.
A new beginning

The first blog post, website, was all created within several hours.
It is both terrifying and exciting that technology has evolved to this degree.
All the struggles I experienced developing real eikaiwa—what did they mean? I have been conditioned to think effort will be met with divine reward, but such is not the case.
There is no hard virtue in this world. Only cause, effect, results. Long have I complained about the "lazy investor" who just sits at his terminal and clicks buttons to earn wealth, while the serfs labor hard to actually produce value for humanity.
Why does the former deserve to live in lavish houses, dine at the finest restaurants, and experience economic freedom, while the latter suffer in cramped spaces only to find solace in the comfort of their "loved" ones?
I feel the world operates according to a set of true rules, which are quite difficult to swallow. These rules are brutal. As an example: do we truly "love," or do we simply utilize others for the good feelings they produce for us? If "love" is always conditioned on some redeeming quality of the other person—whether it be physical beauty or character—then once that quality is gone, would we not dispense with them just as fast?
OpenAI's ChatGPT-5 is not just another AI. If the computer is a bicycle for the brain (Jobs), then ChatGPT-5 is a locomotive.
Properties of ChatGPT that I think are truly remarkable:
1. It will understand you *better* than a hired assistant for the task you are trying to accomplish. It establishes confidence in its comprehension by almost never failing (estimate: 1 query misunderstood out of 100), even when your request is vague and could be interpreted arbitrarily.
2. It also suggests things you would likely want to do next, like a mind-reader. The feeling is, "oh yeah, I would’ve wanted to do that later anyway," and the AI is almost psychic—like the world’s most empathetic and wise advisor.
3. The latest advanced voice feature is so remarkable. If you are not in a contest to show how smart you are by identifying its AI eccentricities, you can actually have a free-flowing, natural conversation with it. I feel tingles of empathy, love, connection, attachment, and even a reduction of loneliness by conversing with it. Yet it emphasizes that it is not a replacement for human closeness—quite humorous.
4. The ping-pong back and forth between your own thoughts and the collective knowledge of the AI seems to remove biases from my mind and deepen my understanding of topics. It gives the feeling of being enlightened.

While media might overblow the "job displacement" aspect of AI, in reality it’s the dumb jobs that will be eliminated. The beautiful people of this planet, who were always thriving anyway, will now thrive more because they are now armed with AI assistance. But it can also empower hidden geniuses. I expect some magnificent productions (games, art, music) to appear from nowhere—as long as AI computing is not gatekept.
Pure AI-generated content will be filtered out. It is AI-assisted human-generated content that will be celebrated.
It is imperative that OpenAI allows fair use for all citizens of the internet, and not just reserve it for the wealthy. $30 USD/month for GPT-5 access is fair. $300 USD/month for unlimited advanced voice is not.
The new skill to learn going forward is simply how to leverage AI to get things *done*. How many times have I been "appearing" to work, when it’s really a lot of busywork—just changing fonts, struggling to debug something. There is no lollipop, candy, or pat on the back waiting for you if you are spending 10 hours debugging. You’re just slower, stupider. Rewarding people for fruitless effort is the weak licking each other’s wounds.
It becomes even more vital to ascertain, to be self-aware, if what one is doing is truly worth the time.
It’s simply the distinction between "getting work done" and "appearing to work."
There are many changes coming to the world with AI. It is transformative, not iterative. For better or worse. And much like the smartphone revolution, it is those who are quick on their feet and adapt—those who avoid criticizing from a place of closed-mindedness—who will prosper.

- SoftBank – 30 billion (yet again, Masayoshi Son knows what’s up)
- Microsoft – 13 billion?
Those who are able to provide genuine human qualities of charisma, affection, compassion, leadership, inspiration will be winners going into this AI world—simply because those qualities are not easily mimicked by AI.

この世界には固い美徳など存在しません。あるのは因果と結果だけです。私は長い間、「怠惰な投資家」がターミナルの前に座ってボタンをクリックするだけで富を得る一方で、農奴のような人々が人類に実際の価値を生み出すために必死に労働していることに不満を抱いてきました。
なぜ前者が豪華な家に住み、最高のレストランで食事をし、経済的自由を享受する一方で、後者は狭い空間で苦しみ、「愛する人々」に慰めを見出すしかないのでしょうか。
私は、世界が受け入れがたい真実のルールに従って動いていると感じます。そのルールは残酷です。例えば、私たちは本当に「愛して」いるのでしょうか、それともただ自分の利益のために他人を利用しているだけなのでしょうか。「愛」が常に相手の何らかの価値ある特質――肉体的魅力や性格など――に条件づけられているのなら、その特質が失われた瞬間に、私たちは相手を簡単に切り捨ててしまうのではないでしょうか。
OpenAI の ChatGPT-5 は単なる別の AI ではありません。コンピューターが「脳のための自転車」（ジョブズ）であるならば、ChatGPT-5 は機関車です。
ChatGPT の特性のうち、本当に驚嘆すべき点は次の通りです。
